His Growing Grove schedules several events, during the year, to provide families with special opportunities for spending time together in the center. These activities are included on the Calendar of Events.
In addition to these center-wide events, classrooms also schedule special activities for the children, their parents and families.
Christmas PageantEach year the entire school, along with over 100 family and friends, gathers on Saturday afternoon to celebrate the birth of Christ, our Savior. As the story of His birth is read from scripture, each class takes a turn to present a song as part of the story telling. Our Christmas Pageant is one of the most precious events of the year.
Easter Egg Hunt
Hunting for Easter eggs is just a small part of HGG’s celebration of the most Holy season, but certainly the most fun! Parents and teachers put together a fun party with food, pinata’s and whatever else makes for fun, and all the children scamper about our beautiful grounds hunting for treasure.
Week of the Young Child
The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. HGG celebrates with a different theme for each day of the week.
Parents Are Special
The third Friday of May is the day we celebrate parents at HGG. Children prepare a special program honoring their parents, expressing appreciation for their love and nurture.
As children leave HGG to move on to Kindergarten or First Grade, families and children gather for special ceremonies to mark the occasion. Children who have been with HGG since infancy receive extra honor and each graduate receives gifts, including a Bible from our Children’s Ministries Director.
At HGG, Fall means Harvest time and we celebrate it in a BIG way. Children and parents gather in our gymnasium, play games, win prizes and enjoy time together.
What better time to spend enjoying good food and festivities together than Thanksgiving? Parents and teachers prepare a feast then sit down to enjoy it together with the children, thanking God for each other, an abundance of food and all the ways He shows His love for us.
